Clyffe Pypard This pedigree is so named as an Elizabeth Beckingham suddenly appears in Clyffe Pypard in Wiltshire around 1792 and her descendants are still in the UK. From the age given on her on her death certificate in 1838, I calculate that she was born circa 1762, but what we do not know is who she was or where she came from. Was she a single woman? Was she a widow? Was her name even Beckingham? All that I do know is that she had four illegitimate children at Clyffe Pypard between 1792 and 1803, Rosanna, William, Ann and lastly Hannah. In 1817 Elizabeth then married a John Nipe who then predeceased her. I have looked at all the Elizabeth's in my files to try and find a suitable candidate but of the four possibles, there were two who I know died, the third married at Baydon in Wiltshire in 1779, and the fourth married at Lambourn in Berkshire in 1784. I suppose that it could be possible that one of these last two could have reverted to their maiden name and started a new life but who knows? There may still be Beckingham families that have not been found. If you have any ideas, please contact me. There is a downloadable pdf file here showing the first generations of this pedigree plus a new gedcom. Please contact me for further information if you think you may be linked. |
