Monmouth

This pedigree has been annotated Monmouth as again, it is where the line currently starts.

A Monmouth man, John Jeffery Beckingham born 1819 married Mary Elliot at Monkwearmouth, Co Durham in 1839. He gave his father as Thomas Beckingham, a husbandman. As the generations have elapsed, the Beckingham surname has, through local accents and dialect, now evolved into Beckeram and finally Beckram. The present day family seem to be still mainly in the Sunderland area.

There is a possibility that John Jeffrey's father, a Thomas Beckingham, came from Newbury in Berkshire and links to the Great Hidden Pedigree but the Newbury man was a "law writer" and not a husbandman. More research is still necessary.

There is a downloadable pdf file here showing the first generations of this pedigree plus a new gedcom file.
